Would you say the benefits outweigh the cost?
This 8m x 16m platform cost about $1200. With the price of lumber right now I would say this exact same setup might run you as much as $1800.

Is it worth it? Absolutely. 4 years after making that video and I'd do it for $1800 as well. So much nicer than falling on concrete lol.

Nice. A few of us were trying to convince our gym owner to do it. He said he would if we got 50 people to attend the judo classes. Judo is the least popular class at our school, so I don’t see that happening. Been considering to propose to pay for it myself.

A sprung floor is just amazing. The variable compression springs to even the pool noodle floors make it so much easier to take bumps. Not saying it's mandatory, but it's unbelievable how much easier on the body a nice sprung floor is.

We have a sprung floor made out of tires. So easy to fall on. Check out this video: https://www.google.com/ur[...]6Z8GC-FKxO
This! Where I train the coach also used tires under the mats. An excellent option. It's not "Springy" in the typical sense of the word. Its not a trampoline feel. Instead when you get thrown hard the floor will give just a bit under the force which is a HUGE help on some of the older crowd. Personally I think it's well worth it if I were a gym owner, I can take so many more throws on it without a problem. Makes training again the next day a lot easier haha! Plus in many places you can get old worn tires for free. So if you already have mats, all you need is a little lumber.
